Blood Drive

On September 20th a blood drive was held for the American Red Cross at my college. As a Student Ambassador I helped out at the drive and actually decided to donate! I was extremely nervous because I'm not a fan of needles (at all!) but I found that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be..I was even able to smile for a picture!

Breast Cancer Fundraiser

This past week I went to The Ritz Salon in Watertown to purchase my pink hair extension in support of breast cancer research..The Ritz is doing a wonderful job raising money for the fund and I am proud to support them!

Alzheimer's Walk 2010!

As Miss Forest Queen 2011, I made an appearance at Watertown's annual Alzheimer's Walk on September 18th. My Papa has Alzheimer's so it was a great opportunity for me to help out an organization that is close to my heart. This terrible, fatal and progressive brain disease develops in an American every 70 seconds; each step at the Alzheimer's Walk brings us closer to a cure because of the amazing amount of funds that are raised. At our Jefferson-Lewis County Alzheimer's Walk we raised almost $60,000 for the organization. Visit to learn more.

My first appearance as Miss Forest Queen 2011 was at the Stuff-A-Bus promotion with Freeman Bus Company, Herb Phillipson's, and Froggy 97..the local country radio station that I work for. It was a HUGE success because over 5,000 school supplies were collected for children returning to school in the North Country! It was great to be a part of this annual event while representing my title.

Miss New York Pageant

I am ssooo thrilled to have the opportunity to compete in the Miss New York Pageant in June of 2011! It is a great organization that not only provides unique experience to young women through interviews, appearances, community interaction, and scholarships (just to name a few of the many benefits!), but it also gives back to another wonderful organization...Children's Miracle Network. The Miss America Organization has raised well over $4 million dollars for CMN since its inception in 2007. This amount continually grows because of the generosity and hard work of the individuals involved in the Miss America Organization at national, state, and local levels. To learn more about the Miss America Organization you can click here, or to learn more about the Miss New York Organization you can click here. I highly encourage you to check out our current Miss New York, Claire Buffie, to see all of the amazing and inspirational work she has done so far! You can see her blog by clicking here.

Another great organizations is Miss America's "little sister", Miss America's Outstanding Teen. I had the very unique opportunity of representing New York as Miss New York Outstanding Teen in 2007 and was able to compete at the MAOT pageant in Orlando, Florida. My year was filled with appearances, fundraising, photo shoots, autograph signings, and traveling. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my lifetime, mostly because of the unforgettable people I met along the way. Additionally, I had the opportunity to see Miss America live in Las Vegas during my reign which was an experience in itself!! All of the memories throughout the year made me realize how great of a match the Miss America Pageant system and I are.

Miss Forest Queen 2011!

I couldn't be more excited to begin my journey as Miss Forest Queen 2011!
It all started on August 21st at the Woodmen's Field Days in Boonville, New York. I had a wonderful time with the festivities involved in the event including log rolling, Lumberjack contests, and lots of favorite being maple cotton candy and maple milkshakes! Thank you so much to the Woodmen's Association for all of your support and for hosting the Miss Forest Queen pageant.
